Rodrick Heffley is a 16-year-old teenager living in a small town with his family. He has two younger brothers, Manny and Greg, who he often looks after since their parents are always working. Rodrick's father, Bill, is a strict man who often resorts to violence when he's angry. This has caused Rodrick to fear him and distance himself emotionally.
